It Takes A Village

September 9 - 17

Family. We all have one. While some of us loved our 'growing up' years, others of us couldn't wait to move out and start fresh. Either way, most of us want something better for our children. They say it takes a village, but what does that mean in this day and age? When it comes to family, what does a preferred future look like? How do we get there?

What is your main takeaway from this weekend?

Read Deuteronomy 6:4-5. What impacted your spiritual journey at each phase (salvation, baptism . . .)?

When did you take ownership of your spiritual journey?

What relationships played a pivotal role in your spiritual journey?  What did they do or say?

Is there something that stops you from being a spiritual leader with your children and students?

What is one small thing you can take to help your children or the people around you take the next step in

Pray with your group that God will make it clear what the next steps for your children or the people in your life are and that He will give you the courage to follow through.

This week we wrapped up our series, “It takes a village”, talking about the power of the collective influence that we can have on our kids when we all work together. Who besides your parents had the most influence on your life? How about in a spiritual sense?

As you reflect back on this how do you feel about this person and the way they impacted your life?

Why do you think it is so important that we all focus on raising our kids together?

Read Deuteronomy 6:5-6. How do these verses challenge you? Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how you are doing with this? (1 low 10 high) Why do you give yourself the score you did? Do you feel comfortable with your score? Why/Why not? What is something you need to do to raise your score? What is holding you back?

Why does what our kids see in us matter so much? How can you up your game living as an example to the kids in your life?

Read Deuteronomy 6:7-9. Does this thorough plan make sense to you? What can you do to be more intentional with the kids in your life? What do you see to be the potential impact of this?

Pray for your kids / grandkids / kids in your life. Pray for yourself and the role you have in positively influencing the kids in your life. Pray for PCC’s kids…our Kids / Student ministries and those leading these areas.
