Easter 2017

April 15 & 16

Part One

April 15 & 16 / Doug Miller

Easter weekend is typically one that includes some family traditions.  What are some of your memories surrounding Easter?

The very first Easter taught us so much about our God.  Oswald Chambers once said, “Sometimes it looks like God is missing the mark because we’re too short-sighted to see what he’s aiming for.” What does Easter communicate God is aiming for?

Share your thoughts about this statement, “Jesus Christ didn’t just die on a cross to make bad people good. He walked out of the tomb to bring dead people to life!”

Read Philippians 3:10 & Ephesians 1:19-20.  What was it that Paul really wanted to experience and understand?  How have you experienced and understood the resurrection?

Our main thought this week was this, “Jesus overcame death to bring me life.”  How have you experienced this in your life?  What can you do this week to stay more connected to our risen King?

Romans 10: 9 says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” What is the difference between “confessing with your mouth” and “believing in your heart”? Have you done both? Have you confessed your sin and professed your faith in Jesus Christ?
